Rachel Seeman

Rachel Seeman, age 84 of Redwood Falls died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 14 at the First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home with an 8:00 p.m. prayer service.

Rachel Seeman was born December 2, 1924 to Emil and Verle (McWilliams) Nelson at Alpena, South Dakota. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1942. She then enlisted in the Cadet Nurse Corp and attended St. John’s School of Nursing, affiliating at St. Mary’s in Rochester, MN. Upon graduation she received her Registered Nurse license in 1945.

Rachel Seeman was united in marriage to Alvin Seeman at Sterling, Colorado on April 9, 1948. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls.

Rachel is survived by her husband Alvin; son James (Pamela) Seeman of Cedar Rapids, IA; daughter-in-law Margaret of Renville, MN; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters: Marjorie (Merritt) Webster of Alpena, SD and Ruth Marsili of Lodi, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert, and one sister.
