Roy P. Rohlik

Roy P. Rohlik, age 83 of Lucan passed away Thursday, January 1, at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 5 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the church with a 6:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. parish prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment is in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery in Lucan. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Roy P. Rohlik was born April 21, 1925 in Seaforth, Minnesota to Anthony and Frances (Donohue) Rohlik. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. He attended school at District 54 Vesta Township country school and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1944. Roy was united in marriage to Dorothy Dolan on June 21, 1950 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy, Minnesota. Roy farmed for two years near Seaforth, and then the couple moved to Lucan in 1953. Roy was a dairy farmer all of his life. He had a great love for his church, his family, and his community. Roy was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lucan Lions for 35 years, and was a trustee at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church for over 30 years. His hobbies included playing cards and fishing, and he liked to golf and tease his grandchildren.

Roy is survived by his wife Dorothy of 58 years; children: Becky (Doug) Schmiesing, Remi (Darla) Rohlik, Carl (Chris) Rohlik, Diane (Mark) Christensen, Mark (Nancy) Rohlik, Clara (Kevin) Schnyders, Scott (Kathy) Rohlik, Stan (Wendy) Rohlik, Sherri (Don) Rose; 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings: Rosie Wachlarowicz of Little Falls, Sister Helen Rohlik of Rochester, Ruth Franta of Wabasso, Steven Rohlik of Owatonna; aunt Florence Kohls of Belview; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Kevin Rohlik; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
