Otto “Buck” Bucholz, Jr.

Otto “Buck” Bucholz, Jr. age 84 of Morton, formerly of Brooklyn Center, passed away Monday, July 6, 2009 at Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls surrounded by his family following a battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment is in the Morton City Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.redwoodvalleyfuneralhome.com. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Otto “Buck” Bucholz, Jr. was born December 3, 1924 in Morton, Minnesota to Otto and Alice (Jones) Bucholz. He attended school in Morton. On December 13, 1947, Otto was united in marriage to Rose A. Miller in Redwood Falls. Otto served as a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy during WWII. He served in the military for over 20 years. Otto was a member of the Lower Sioux Community, enjoyed golfing, playing his ukulele, and was always seen smoking his pipe.

Otto is survived by his loving wife Rose A. Bucholz of 61 years; children: Steve (Linda) Bucholz of Redwood Falls, and Cynthia Miller of Blaine, MN; special grandchildren Leila Sissi and Steve Whitaker, and 9 other grandchildren; great-grandchildren Isabella and Elijah Sissi, and Janessa Whitaker; sister Lorraine Ross of Redwood Falls, brothers: Roger (Jo) Bucholz of VA, Bill Bucholz of VA, Kenneth Sweesy of Morton, MN, and Vernon Sweesy of OR; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ray, Robert, Jerry, and James; and one niece Judy Peterson.
